Frequently asked question

Is there any age limit?

Travelers must be legally qualified to travel alone or be in the care of a legal guardian
to join a LOS Trip

What is the maximum number of people on a trip?

Each LOS Life Travel group is limited to 13 and no more than 30 people on a trip.

Can I drink while on a trip?

Travelers must be of a legal drinking age to be allowed to drink (at least 21 years old).

What should I expect on a LOS travel trip?

LOS Travel is for the explorer and patient traveler. Every LOS trip is an immersive experience with a lot of time spent in groups. However, we know group travel can be overwhelming, especially to introverts, so each trip includes a free day or two to do as you please. There may be a lot of walking and moderate activity level.

Am I going to enjoy my trip?

Yes! No two trips are the same and we take extensive care to curate each one to ensure our travelers are a good fit and that we can accommodate the needs of everyone.

Do I automatically get Passports or visas for a LOS trip?

Foreign visitors wishing to travel to Nigeria or other African countries should be in possession of valid national passports and travel visas, valid for at least 90 days.

Can You Help Arrange My Travel Visas?

Requirements for travel visas vary widely depending on your nationality and your destination. However, if you cannot arrange your visa by yourself, we can refer you to a trusted visa processing company to help with that.

Are Airport Transfers Included?

This is dependent on the type of trip and package you buy. If the trip includes airport transfer, it will be included in the trip description and you will be picked up within a 45-min time frame.

How much should I budget for extra expenses on the trip and What types of additional expenses should I plan for?

On average, an extra $1200 should be okay. If possible, bring half of that in cash and notify your bank if you will be using your bank outside the US.  We recommend Settl.Me as an alternative to using your credit card while on travel. Upon signing up for our trip, you’ll receive a questionnaire where we ask about your interests and can tell you about additional cost items. Examples like buying gifts or fabrics, nightlife outings, or having an outfit made by a local tailor are extra expenses.

I'm A Single Traveller, Will I Be Charged With A Single Supplement?

Most of our accommodation is on a single bed per room. If you are traveling with someone, you are charged per person sharing the room. For some tours, when shared room occupancy is the only option, you will be notified. If shared rooms are the only option, you will be paired with another LOS Life Traveler of the same sex.

Do I need to pay an extra fee for my meal?

Most often our trips have most meals included (except otherwise stated). Meals are offered buffet or family style and always have options. We make an effort to accommodate gluten-free and vegetarian options but please be aware this may not be completely possible in certain instances. Notify us on the intake questionnaire of special dietary needs so that when we cook the meals, we can organize our menu planning accordingly.

You'll Also Have A Few Nights To Head Out And Do Your Own Thing

What else do I Need to Know Ahead of Traveling?

Prior to your departure, you will be sent a document called:  "Preparing for Your Journey to...(insert your destination)" which will include an up-to-date itinerary, supplies you may need to bring, accommodation and airport transfer information, what to bring, what to wear, and any other information we think necessary.

Do I need Travel Insurance?

We require that everyone traveling with LOS Life Travel has travel insurance. It is a good idea to buy travel insurance whenever and wherever you travel. World Nomads is a good source to get a travel insurance quote. There are certain situations when you should definitely have travel insurance coverage in order to recoup your expenses in case of the unexpected:

  1. If you are on a pre-scheduled or multi-day package tour.

  2. Whenever you visit a foreign country, especially if you plan to visit lots of different places.

  3. When you plan to take part in risky activities such as bungee jumping, trekking, climbing, scuba diving, skydiving, and so on.

I am African, do I need a Visa to enter Nigeria?

Nationals of non-West African countries require a visa to enter Nigeria, these requirements differ from country to country and are subject to change. Contact your government office to find out particulars.
